@sfuller WTF ??? You can get 4.10s and alMost any other combo you want...?!

@ fastdriver. It depends if your getting traction, I would guess around .5 depending on your total setup..

I put 4.10's in my GTO back in the summer time along with new axles, stubs, clutch and driveshaft. Otherwise, I'm stock. The gears didn't even come CLOSE to living up to the hype that they've been given. The car definitely has more pick up and go in 4th, 5th and 6th gears, but I don't feel much of a difference at all in the first 3 gears.

Granted I never ran it at the track so i can't give you time differences, but for your car, you might see a few tenths depending on the cam you're running and its powerband.

yeah there rediculously expensive. its my friends goat 6 speed with a 230/236 .540/.540 110lsa and ls6 243 heads with bolt ons. he's hoping to run low 12's after the 4.10's

does this sound feasible?

I 2nd this. In a LS2 with cam, should be high 11's with a good 60' and traction.

I agree that with bolt ons he should already be in the 12s with a 5.7. With just headers I was 12.9x. That would mean the diver mod would be most beneficial. He'd probably lose tenths. I have 3.91s on my 5.7 now and gears made it harder to launch not easier. On the street they're fun on a roll but at the track traction is a problem

car has pacesetter headers 1 3/4 long tubes not cats and loudmouth 2 mufflers. there is no restriction. looking at 4.10's with the mph he will be turning. i have an estimate. guessing at 400rwhp he should be going approximatly 115-119mph at best so here are the numbers and let me know what u think

RPM-wise he'd be fine but I'll bet his 60 goes higher as well as his ET and he'll be fighting wheel hop. A4s with 400 RWHP and stock gears can do high 11s, very low 12s with only 110-111 traps. They're also getting 1.6 60s. He won't be running 115+ at 400 RWHP. My car runs like hell once it gets going but even trapping near 115 MPH I'm only getting 12.34 because of the 60 and I'm a decent driver. These cars don't launch like fBods. What's he trapping now and what are his 60s?

Friend of mine went 11.85 @ 117 back in the day with the 3.91s, slicks and skinnies, and catless mids. They help quite a bit, but if you don't have good tires they will create a traction problem.

he's got mickey thompsons, drag bags, and polyurithane bushings in the back. he ran the car wit street tires and couldnt hook up and only 60' 2.200 and ran 13.5 at 105 short shifting at 6000rpms

but since then he's added new injectors that he needed cause his were maxed out.

so drag radials
injectors
new gears
and shift at 6500rpms

He maxed out his injectors? I didn't max mine out until quite a bit over 400 RWHP. I was also trapping 104-105 and 1.9x 60s bone stock with stock BFGs. The traps he's running don't sound right. IMHO gears are going to make his driving worse and I think they won't be a good bang for the buck on the strip. My 2¢
