Question 04 GTO auto transmission help!!!!

Car belongs to my girlfriend and is completely stock w/78,000 miles and when leaving from a stop, the shifting is delayed from 1-2 and 2-3 and 3-4 gear, You have to mash the gas and go but get off the gas for it to shift into the next gear. Any suggestions , if I need a trans who should I buy from??? I have seen some totally rebuilt from EBay but not sure if that's the best option. Being her only means of transportation, the car cannot be down, I'll have to swap them out on a weekend.... Someone give me some info....
Is this some kind of shift sensor or is this thing about to tear up???

Sounds like it's toast to me. I wouldn't go eBay for a trans. Just my opinion though. You could always check with a local gm dealer and get a certified rebuilt trans. Or go to the auto trans section on here and get one from a sponser.

Oh I meant to add, check your fluid level and condition. If it looks really brown and smells burnt i'm sure it's done for.

Yeah, check fluid level first. Otherwise, sounds like she needs a new trans. I would get one from Performabuilt (which is what I did).

Actually the fluid had been flushed when she had it serviced, thought it was a good idea. And as of right now the fluid in it looks great, wish I could of seen the old fluid to help me determine the Problem...
