Default GOAT On Rails!

Who's got one? What suspension mods are you running?

I just bought A 06 m6 with 14k on the odo 4 weeks ago. I already put 2k miles on it. And It's apparent the suspension can use help.. Aside from the suspension I love this car!

Radius Rod Bushings
Strut Top Bushings
Sway bar end links and Sway bar bushings

Those three give a great improvement to the factory suspension right off the bat. You will notice less wandering, better braking, better steering, and less body roll.

Then you can get into poly control arm bushings, poly rear subframe bushings, coilovers, etc if you aren't satisfied, but those are the three I would tackle first.

Currently my plan is all poly bushings with BC Racing coilovers in the front, poly bushings with camber and toe adjust in the rear and the G-force 1320 coilover kit, Hotchkis sways front and rear with solid endlinks.

Cool, where did you get your bushings? I changed the oil the other day and noticed the tiny end links, I would like to swap those out too. And Springs, springs SPRINGS. Ride is WAY to soft for me. I not going to race it on a track regularly so I can't justify thr price of coil overs.. What are the stiffest springs available?

My 78 elcamino weighs around 3100 pounds and has hotchkis 600 pound inch springs and hotchkis tuned bilstien shocks. Rough freeway roads don't faze it at 120 mph. And the ride is amazing, I want to same ride for my GOAT.

You need dampers valved appropriately to match those springs so either a Pedders or Lovells kit. But I would do all the worn rubber bushings as a priority.

I just got my Whiteline/Lovells/Noltec Radius Rod bushings installed from Kollar racing not an hour ago. It dramatically improved turn in and braking. They also sell springs/struts:http://www.kollarracingproducts.com/...GTO/Categories

I've got the following suspension parts:

Pedders front and rear radius rod bushings
Energy Suspension GTO kit (rear cradle bushings, front and rear control arm bushings, front and rear sway bar bushings, rear sway bar end link bushings)
Pedders XA Coilovers (with BC rear springs because the Pedders springs were too weak)
Harrop rear diff cover

It handles like a completely different car now. SO much fun to drive on twisty roads!

Also recommend Konis shocks/struts.

My suspension set up:

Energy endlink bushings
Energy subframe bushings
Energy front control arm bushings
King HD springs, front & rear, OE height
Koni adjustable struts
Koni adjustable shocks
Lovells strut mounts
Lovells front radius rod bushings
Lovells diff mount bushing
Roadsafe ball joints
Whiteline sway bars
Whiteline upper shock bushings
Whiteline rear radius rod bushings
Whiteline spring pads

My car handles great - only my tires hold me back. There is a trade off in the introduction of sound/vibrations into the passenger cabin but that is a price you pay for a more responsive and tighter car.

Pedders Track II package. Not cheap but it transforms your GTO from a boulevard cruiser to nearly a C5 Vette level. The ride is somewhat stiffer, but still fine for every day driving. Throw on a Harrop diff cover, helps your GTO's fat back end feel more planted to the ground, and of course a serious set of summer performance tires. You will not believe how well your GTO will handle with these mods.

Very nice guy's thanks for sharing. I have a quite a few questions but I'll ask one at a... Or 2.

Who are the best vendors that cater to us as in quality?

And what company is best for poly bushings.

Kollar Racing and Auto Agenda are the two I'm using. Kollar Racing for bushings (lowest prices) and BC Racing coils/Strut bushings from Auto Agenda.

I like the Whiteline/Lovells/Noltec bushings. Pedders is grossly overpriced. But BMR also has some bushings out.

After looking at the BC coilovers I made up my mind, thats what I want. the one for 1,000 seem like a good deal. I'ts going to be one of my first five mods. CAI and bushings being first. I really want those 6 piston ctsv brembros as well..
