Good luck, if you can.
I use alum wheel polish and it works great.

I was going to wet sand then use plastic polish on the exterior part of the headlight, but it looks like I have some light bubbling on the inside. Trying to figure out how to restore these suckers with out throwing down for a new pair.

You have to bake them in the oven, to get the glue warm, then pull them apart. There is a write up on ls1gto, I believe. I took several sets apart. OEM and aftermarket.

Seems like a lot of steps for head lights lol, I was going to replace my set, but just bought some polish stuff, bought HID kit, little tint, they came out good. Good luck taking them apart, might as well its winter anyways

I saw that write up, then I saw another post on someone over baking their them and ruining their headlights. lol -
What temp and how long did you bake it until you were able to pull them apart? What did you use to glue it back? Epoxy? Just seems like this would be a tough project and not worth the effort. Any pics?

The best thing I have ever used and it is the proper way to do it, is get the 3m headlight restoration kit. It is a lot easier to be even and better for getting all the outside corrosion off. Then they look brand spankin new!! If you are hand sanding make sure you do it well. The 3m starts off with a 600grit, then 800 grit, then wet sand 1000 grit, then uses a buffing compound, the polished finish! As for moisture, I haven't ever had to look at that issue yet.

I am going to try sanding the exterior first then use megs plasticX and see how it comes out. Just seems like the light bubbles are from the inside. I will try to get a close up shot of it, but going to take this little task on next weekend.
