What he is paying for is the name LIVERNOIS and hopefully quality work and customer service.
For $10 grand you could have much more, but, he also doesn't have the time to do it himself or find somewhere else to take it. It's his money and decision, if it makes him happy, good deal and happy motoring!

OP- Stay on them about that Driveshaft, mine took about a week total, from ordering it to install complete.
I can do math, throw the 2000 in labor, tax and the parts he has said a few times he might be leaving out and you are right there. Who knows what heads, they might be 2-3x what I estimated there.

They're recommending the supporting mods because if you have 95k on the car, and they throw a cam in it for you, and dont update parts, something will break and then you could potentially come back and blame them for it.
So if you figure...
headers and catback, $2000 (probably on the really cheap side) + $400(?) labor.
heads - $1500-3000 + 400ish for labor, gaskets, coolant, oil, headbolts, etc...
cam, springs, pushrods, probably a trunion upgrade, lifters/trays (since the car has 100k on it), gaskets - You're probably at $1000 in parts, and $500ish in labor.
then you have an oil pump ($150ish)
Timing chain ($35-$150)
clutch - $1000 plus $500ish for labor.
Tune - typically $400-500.

I come up with $8185 without tax and airing on the cheaper side of things.
Good headers are easily 1000. A nice catback is easily 1000. Then you have catted/catless midpipes to deal with also. Doesnt seem terribly far off to me just by quoting prices from memory.
Again, ontop of parts you ARE paying for the insurance of having a shop do it that has a reputation and stands behind their work.

We don't know all the details: Labor, what the parts cost, etc...

After having my GTO go through a few "Changes" and what the costs were for those changes, I just think he could have got more, that's all. Good work done by a quality shop that makes you a satisfied customer is worth it. We all know the saying, "You get what you pay for."

Sweet, 440 on motor should be fun! Close to 600 on the gas with a 100 shot, you will have your hands full.

449 at the wheels for that $$$$

I put a cam and long tubes on my buddies 06 - he is a tuner - I'm an installer so no labor charge
Volant intake and magna flow cat back.
Stock 243 heads

It made 441 RWHP.......

Your build is super nice but I would want more power with heads and cam...

on the other side though, not everyone wants a big donkey dick cam that isn't very nice in the street....

on the 75 shot, he is putting down some nice power on a stock bottom end. a 100 shot will put him up in the 525 range and then its probably time to build a bottom end for a bigger shot!

Easily could have put a bigger cam in it an made alot more power but that wasn't the goal. And it wasn't the goal when I bought the car to make it anything less than pretty much stock driveability. Now I'm sure that will change eventually but for now the car is exactly what I wanted and atleast half of the cost of it came from the odds and ends stuff and supporting mods which I won't have to worry about further down the road . Gonna run it like this for the summer and maybe longer. Then proly do bottom end and a touch more spray. I have a hayabusa as well that is stupid fast so it takes a lot of HP in a car to impress me. I just wanted it to be a bit more fun to drive
