Not my style - I think the standard Monaro looks better, IMHO. Then again - I don't think I'll ever do any appearance mod's to my goat - I love it just the way it is.

Dan, I know you love that GTO. LOL

You should take it to Gingerman on the West side of the state and try it on the track for cornering and acceleration out of the turn and braking in the turn. 60.00 for the night. Just my 2 cents. I have another site where me and some guys will be heading out there.

The HSV GTO body parts fit the Pontiac GTO, but they're only available in Oz, and are very expensive not including shipping.

I know, because I'm looking into getting them.

I might be interested - I've never heard of gingerman. I'll have to check it out one of these days.

HSV GTO body kit (front fascia, skirts, rear bumper, spoiler) - $6,643.62 USD

HSV GTO roof spoiler - $403.18 USD

HSV GTO 18" wheels - $2,880.15 USD

HSV GTS 19" wheels - $4,330.93 USD

Add on for shipping, painting, and installation. The fascia would have to be modified for the cornering lights to fit. Not exactly a cheap proposition, but I still plan on doing it with a black GTO with red leather, including the 18" wheels.

I'm planning to keep the car badged as a Pontiac, including swapping the wheel center caps, and putting an arrowhead on the front grille. I'm also going to use the HSV GTO emblems on the side skirts and remove the GTO fender emblems. I'm looking at red brake calipers too.

The best thing about Holden Special Vehicles is their cars are sold though Holden dealerships, its not some aftermarket tuner. Their cars are built under license from GM but HSV is owned by Tom Walkinshaw.

Not only that but HSV stuff performs, not just for looks. The HSV brakes and suspension parts work well.

But to get a body kit you don't have to go though HSV, company like SSV in sydney offers similar body kit at cheaper prices.

There are cheaper aftermarket replicas in Australia, but the quality and fitment isn't good.

HSV or bust for now.

theres heaps of cheap HSV immitation bodykits around here in .au, if you guys do a group buy there would no doubt be a company willing to do cheap shipping...

the GTO and GTS bodykits are the same, except for different colour coding and badging.

yes the gts is the pick of the bunch, the GTO puts out 255kw, and the GTS puts out 300kw, but there is other differences such as better brakes, stiffer suspension, and prestige of owning a GTS

I went to a car show yesterday called "Holden Vs Ford", shame i didn't take a camera as i'm sure you guys would've loved some of the monaro's that were on display there.. most interesting i saw was a 2002 CV8 Monaro 6 speed with a VY SS commodore front end and 10psi (from memory..) supercharger.. yummo!

ps; VY ss looks like so http://www.kisser.net.au/davidc/imag.../ute_front.jpg

enjoy your gto's gentlemen!

Replacing the Holden badges with Chevrolet badges is pretty common in Australia (from what I've read).

GM has hinted at releasing the Ute SS here as the Chevrolet El Camino SS, I hope the GTO sales don't discourage them from doing that. The Ute has more of the aggressive look people want, it's cheaper to buy, weighs less, offers all the utility of a truck, and looks like a modern El Camino/Chevrolet truck.
