What suspension are people running for lowering kits
I have an 04 M6 lookingto lower and try to have a decent ride since the car is a street car, wondering what people are running! I'm looking for full kit options...

IMHO pictures of "stance" don't say much about ride and handling . Eibachs are mush and Kings are jarring. If road racing a stiff spring is OK but for all around a mid level like Lovells is better. Besides the harsh ride on the street too heavy of a spring can make the tires leave the ground on average crappy roads and you lose traction over one a little more compliant.

Certainly wouldn't call Eibach's mushy, soft and comfortable yes.
I had the Eibach and Koni combination on our previous HSV GTO, liked the ride quality that much I fitted the same set up to friends HSV GTO in the picture.
This car rides very smoothly on country roads and on the track has gone 1.72 in the 60' on drag radials.

^ I actually think that is the route i am going to go after christmas. After my run in with eibach. originally I thought since its my daily i didnt want to put that kind of money into springs and shocks as I wasnt after the performance enough to justify higher cost of coilovers. Now that I have spent some time under the car and recognize some of the additional things that need to be replaced when installing these items, by the time you buy some better springs and shocks/struts and replacing the bearings for the fronts you could have purchased the coilovers especially if you were going with Koni's.

IMHO the only big advantage with coil overs is adjustablity. I don't know many people that continually adjust them but just pick a height and went with it. Pretty much the same thing you do with regular springs. 20mm leaves enough travel so you don't compromise ride yet handles better than stock height. Coil over does sound race but by definition the fronts are "coil over strut" from the factory. No biggie one way or the other though.

most dont realistically i tend to swap wheels every so often and I like to manage fender gap when I do. though I didnt realize until after reading an install review the rears really arent coilovers.
I agree the only selling point is adjust-ability and if you arent fiddling with that regularly its kind of useless. for my taste though if the cost is relatively the same why not have the adjustment factor though Koni's give you the dampener/rebound control dont they?

I got Konis way back when there wasn't much available at all outside of OEM or Monroe and they do adjust. Frankly I leave them on full soft all the time except the times I dragged the car. At that setting it is still stiffer than stock and with Lovells springs makes it firm but comfortable. They've held up great for about 9-10 years now.

I recently put some KYB excel g's on the rear of the car when I put the eibachs on and I have no complaints on them, but I think i jumped the gun on making the decision as I wanted to do it while I had the time (had a kid due in April) so in hind sight I think I would have rather spent the money to do a coil over setup or go Koni but sticker shock kept me out of doing them for some reason. Sad part is janurary of that same year I bought a set of ridetech level 2 coilovers for my firebird.

The thing with many coilover systems is they carry much more sophisticated valving, capacity and many have gone to a digressive profile which helps with keeping car on the road and ride is improved over bumps.
The off the shelf shock won't have this level of engineering. You might keep this in mind for future decision making.
