Default 4L65E help needed

What's up guys, new to the site, but I've had my 06 gto for about 5 years now. lately I've been having issues with my trans. I've had it re-built twice (same shop 2nd time was warranty) and it's still burning up 3rd gear after about 2k miles or so. Once I noticed slippage the 2nd time I parked it and it's been sitting since because the warranty is up. The car is only making 394 rwhp so I can't imagine that being too much for the trans to handle right? Also, the shop installed a heavy duty master overhaul kit and said it should be able to handle. So far I've replaced the TCM and speed sensor, but didn't seem to make a difference. Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

buy Z-pak 3-4 clutches real great stuff
and also ,,
maybe it's too tight still burning results of too tight clutches and u should rebuild it again, too loose probably makes sloopy shifting ( u feel ur self driving 80s caddy with Oem 200R4 lol )

If it is burning out the 3-4 clutch pack within a couple thousand miles it is absolutely a builder error.

Do you know what kit they used?

What causes the clutches to be too tight? Just overall installer error? And the shop told me they used a brand called Alto which has the heavy duty 3-4 clutches supposedly. I'm definitely staying away from that shop, do any of you recommend a good shop in Ca near the Bay Area? Thanks for the feed back guys

Nobody uses Alto's. I would find a different shop.
Use Borg Warner high energy clutches.

I don't think the clearances were to tight. My guess is probably to loose causing long shifts which gives the 3-4 clutch pack more time to slip during shifts.
That combined with a 3-4 circuit leak and using Alto clutches.

In my 3-4 clutch pack I use a 8 friction setup and run my clearance at .030"
