Default gains with ported 243 cylinder heads

ok so my car is a stock head and bottom end 5.7 ls1 241 heads. only mods as of now is custom grind 230/238 .605 113lsa cam and 1 3/4 long tubes and a cold air, McLeod rst & 14.5lb act flywheel. car previously made 406/386 sae smoothing 0 dynojet. I'm looking to have the car make 450-460 wheel so I'm thinking if I did ported 243 heads from same company I have my cam from and do a ump if I can make the power. any input helps here thanks in advance!

The 243 heads should be worth 10-20hp over the 241 heads stock for stock especially with the nice Bolt-ons and cam you have. With a reputable porter you can gain a good amount more with the 243 heads ported. Might want to give them your cam specs before they mill them though as it could be pretty close on ptv clearance.

I went with Total engine airflow stage 2.5 243's. Should have some track times with them soon

A 20-30hp seems like a reasonable gain with ported 243's over stock 241's. Though stock 243's don't flow too bad. I made 425rwhp with a big cam, longtubes, and untouched 243's. Thinner head gaskets to optimize quench, and therefore bump the compression a lil, could be worth it if PTV clearance permits. That is, if your new heads haven't been milled.
