Looking for a good but not over the top setup to run at the track. I'm thinking 90/10 fronts with standard springs and a Lovells standard height rear spring but I'm uncertain on what rear shock to use. Koni adjustable, Bilstein B6 or something other? Not quite ready to make the jump to something like a QA1 or Viking double but happy to take some tips on what has been proven with others. I've got a nice Circle D stall on the way and really want this sucker to squat and go.

I've done pretty well with pedders, I know that's not what everyone likes or wants to hear. I have your basic coilovers on front on full soft setting, and in the back I have the pedders 8081 drag shock and pedders 2589 spring with my old drag bags. When I had stock springs I inflated the bags to 140 kpa because the springs were useless. now I only have to use 70 kpa in the bags

I use Pedders 90/10's in the front but a straight axle in the rear so I can't help you there. You should get at least a single adjustable so you can crank up the compression. Squatting is losing energy.
A friend of mine with an 05 uses the 90/10's and Pedders drag shocks in the back with bags at about 15# and Hoosier QTP Pro tires. He really hooks with that setup.

Amen. You generally want it to go forward not up and down. Front too. As stiff as you can and still hook.

I might try some trial and error and take some time testing. I think I'll go full factory front end with a drag bag and a stiffer rear spring before I spend a heap on suspension I can only use at the track (and may not benefit my power)

I have the Kings springs....lowered 1/2 in front and stock height in back, with a extra spring isolator and a extra bump stop...raising it about a inch in the rear. Running stock strut in front and KYB excell G shocks in back.... No bags. My best 60' is a 1.42 on mickey pro radials.

Not to hijack his thread but has anyone had any luck getting the BC coilovers to work decent at the track right now I have them set about as hard as they can go still seems like it wants to squat a little in the rear.

what pre load are you at? what ride hide?

The spring rate is too light. Get some heavier springs. The GTO is still going to squat a little. It has a lot of squat built in to the suspension design.

The rears are set all the way hard and the fronts are set 4 clicks from all the hard. Its pretty low I need to raise it up at least a quarter of an inch.

That's probably going to be the next thing I tackle after I replace the two piece driveshaft and rear axles.

From my experience with the full hard setting on the shock and the preload with the spring set a 1/4" deeper my friends here have had the best luck with stock ride height. It's not pretty to look at but thats how much the BC's sqaut
