transmission problem I have a 2004 GTO with 53k miles. On my way to work yesterday I went to pass a car and the rpms shot up to 3k and then went back down and the car coasted. The engine was running but the car had no power, i got it coasted to the side of the road. It starts fine but theres no gears. The car has a 3400 stall a trans-go shift kit and a tranny cooler. We have a 70 challenger that the hubby works on but knowes nothing about my car. we are going to try to do most of the work because of cost. Just wondering if anyone could might be able to help with figuring out what happened, wish us luck, lol |
4l65e I'm assuming ? Does reverse work? Manual first? Put a pressure gauge on and see what ya get. |
No reverse, no gears at all.The tranny fuse is fine and i checked the fluid non running and running and the fluid was the same on the dipstick. I guess checking pressure is next. 4L60E, automatic. |

Stall converter went out. That's what happened to me anyway |
I'm betting it's the pump gone. It happens. |
Pump is gone common problem with the 4l60e. Time to pull the trans and rebuild. |

LOL... I lived that life for a while and then put a 4L80 in. Now it's back to an M6...RPM Level 5, only one neutral. |
