Default 2005 GTO OFFICIAL INFO (Read Before Posting)

I'm sure this was posted but people keep talking in other threads that there isn't going to be an LS2 in it, even in a thread today 3 days after the official info was posted. Here's the official link, maybe this should be a sticky.

Here are some pics as posted by Nikivee on Ls1gto.com or Ls2gto.com

By your post you seem to imply that 05 GTO's are already built and being shipped to the US as we speak?

Not right now i dont think this seem to be a once off load right now maybe for pontiac to get used to the engine in the car maybe some test runs stuff like that. Get a feel for it.The the load comes behind it, Also give Holden some space to see this engine before they get it in next year.

I cant say anything on the AutoX body kit i know nothing about that at all, Single trailer 6 cars to a plane with 6lt on it thats all he said i just dotted the I's and crossed the T's, He knew it was the monaro he hasnt seen many pics of the GTO, He said it had a BMW grill lol i said thats pontiac, That was one and only delivery, So if we sent them like that you would be lucky if 18,000 got there in one year these would have been test play cars, Holden wont make the GTO right now cause we are going through a Change in model this month to the VZ. When is the 2005 GTO due for release ?

From what others have posted and GMPP people have said is that the Autocross kit will be available this fall for 04 GTO owners to order and 05 GTO buyers to include with their order. I don't think its know how the kits will be offered as the part Numbers aren't available yet.

"The badges identifying the ’05 GTO’s bigger V-8 include a “6.0” badge on the trunk lid and revised “GTO” fender badges, which now incorporate “6.0 Litre” designations. The original 1964 GTO also wore “6.0 Litre” fender badges, but at a time when almost every other American manufacturer referenced engine size in cubic inches."

Ummm, excuse me.... cool info but the original '64 was a 389ci motor, which is NOT 6.0L. WTF!?!?! Also, it shows tires as a 225 width. WTF? Other than that, the '05 looks very promising, I think I'll be trading my blk/blk/M6 '04 GTO in for another one. Not sure what color I'll get this time!

My Red 1964 Tripower/4 Speed had 6.5 Litre Badges to be exact. Very close to 389 Cubic Inches! Sounds like the 2005 could well get my interest again.
