Default Technical Difficulties!!!!:(

Can someone tell me where to find electric cut-outs for my 2004 GTO? Also, I hate the 1-4 shift crap, how do I eliminate that? Additionally, why does the car make a sort of knocking noise in the rear end when I am letting the clutch out in first? I have to get the driver side power seat module replaced because the seat only goes forwards and backwards, it doesn't tilt in any direction. Please help me?

I love this car.....I hope I am dreaming up this stuff.

Not sure on cutouts - personally I'm about getting a good flowing exhaust and tuning it correctly and not using cutouts - but that's just my opinion.
'CAGS' eliminator - kits are like $25, got mine from LS1speed (think they are still a sponsor here). Also anybody w/ a tuning program can disable it. Kit went on mine the first week - but I also never have the light on except times when I'm in traffic and wouldn't be shifting anyway. Maybe I'm too heavy on the gas
If the knocking is on heavy acceleration, and it's an early build car, then it's the bolts for the rear end carraige hitting the chassis. There's a TSB out there (check out ls1gto where they have it in it's entirety). Otherwise not sure.
I've heard of a couple of people having prob's w/ the seat - but 9500 miles and 8 months and no prob's for me.
Hope that helps,
Dan

Is this knocking noise a single clunk sound or more of a rattle/buzzing noise? If I take off from a stop at about 1000 rpm I get a noise from the back but I wouldn't describe it as a clunk or thunk.

The skip shift thing is an easy fix with a 20 dollar piece that plugs into the connector on the tranny that causes that.

As for the noise from the tranny it's hard to say. The tranny does seem to be kinda noisy and mine did something like that it seemed at first than stopped.

From Mentor, eh ?

There is a cleveland area GTO get together on saturday check www.ls1gto.com under great lake region for the info.

The T56 has always had a clunking sound to it. Nothing you can really do.

The CAGS system is easily defeated by a CAGS eliminator sold at any vendor/sponsor here.

As to the seat issues, that's a warranty claim.

Well I have come to find out I don't have a clunk in the rear end of the car, but I do need to get that 1-4 shift taken care of. The module is on order for the seat. I still haven't taken pictures for you all to see her. I want to know where to buy a cutout or a good exhaust for this baby. Let me know

Peace love and happiness
Kjanks

P.S. Aren't there car clubs around mentor for people to go cruisin and hanging out?
I need friends

These things make a huge difference. On a 400whp single exhaust Evo, one cutout upped wheel horsepower by about 25. It does turn the car into an ungodly beat however. Not for the street. That Evo sounded like an open exchaust big block with the cutout open.

So can I install a cutout on a stock exhaust or do you guys prefer me get a borla or a flowmaster? Which one would make it sound good but worth the money.

It's not what we prefer, it's what YOU prefer! Cost wise, the cutout is a hands down winner, but unless you run with it open all the time a cat-back will give you that all the time but as such is costlier.

And Rhino, nothing sounds like a BBC other than a BBC. Sorry! Especially nothing with half the cylinder count. A BBC has a unique sound that is all it's own, much like a Harley has it's own no matter how close the competition comes.
