Default Redline Oil is in the GTO

My '04 GTO now has 10,000 miles on it. For the past 5000 miles the rear end has been whining from 50 - 60 mph. The other thing I noticed that from day 1 my GTO had some transmission gear noise (it's an M6). I attributed the tranny noise to being new and tight.

From my 3 previous F-bodies I knew some Redline oil might help. This weekend I drained the factory fluids and put 2 qts. Redline 80W140 in the rear and 4 qts. D4 ATF in the M6 trans.

Silencio !

As soon as I drove the GTO around the block I could feel the improvement. The car felt much smoother. This morning on the way to work (it was 34 F here). The car didn't feel as stiff when cold and all the gear noise was gone. The transmission shifts much smoother now, warm or cold. No more gear noise from the rear, warm or cold.

With the Redline oil, no friction modifier was needed in the rear end.

Once again, I am VERY pleased with the Redline products.
