Default NEW PRODUCT: 2005-'06 Volant Induction

2005-'06 GTO Volant Induction

We are now taking orders for the new Volant induction for the 2005-'06 GTOs.

Volant Cool Air Intake Systems are revolutionizing the way a true COLD air intake should be manufactured. Volant engineers each vehicle application to give the customer a quality intake that fits and installs like OEM. Volant modifies the air intake duct and filter box by reducing intake restrictions, rerouting and increasing the diameter of the new air duct without removing any OEM sensors from the vehicle. All intake systems are molded with a high-grade X-Link polyethylene material to insulate the air box from conducting as much heat as would metal.

Features
Volant Filter Box: Cross-link polyethylene filter box is engineered to specific design. It insulates and protects the filter from pulling hot air from the engine compartment, thus, increasing horsepower.

Volant Air Duct: Cross-link polyethylene air ducts are sculptured to give the engine a less restrictive air pass to breathe. Larger diameters, unique bends and smooth transitions gives you maximum horsepower and awesome throttle response.

Volant Ram Filter: Cleanable and reusable high grade filter media reduces air restriction and increases engine output. Precision pleat geometry optimizes airflow throughout the intake system.

High Performance Silicone Connectors: High performance silicone hose connectors provides flexibility while maintains strength and thermal stability.

Stainless Steal Clamps: Marine grade clamps allows optimal performance with large operating range and available for virtually any application which requires maintainability and versatility.

Looks like a winner... Now if I could only afford that and a Magnaflow cat-back at the same time.

I hope it performs better for you GTO guys than it did on my CTS V. 4rwhp / 5 rwt with tune over the stock intake and stock tune. HHHMMMMMM Volant promptly returned my money.

If your tuner could only squeeze 4 horsepower and 5 torque out vs a stock tune, no matter what intake you are using, you need a different tuner. I'd ask for my money back from them first.

I dunno, but i'd expect more than 4 horsepower out of it. Quite a few 04 GTO's were getting at least twice that from a custom tune, 05's even more.

Doesnt matter. I wasnt bashing your tuner, but how can you blame lack of performance gains on the intake when their are too many variables to say it was or was not the intake, or tuners fault for lack of power to the wheels gains. Regardless, many/most GTO owners have LOST power going to aftermarket open element filter kits due to taking in MORE heat and having WORSE heatsoak than before. So far this kit is the only one for 05's that has a large open element filter enclosed in an airbox that draws air from away from the radiator and engine bay. Granted it isnt as good as say, running the filter out to a fender where it is shielded from all engine bay heat, or a short shielded intake that uses the hood openings and has no bends, but nobody has been able to make something that fits and bolts in with the MAF and such for 05's like that yet.

And yes, i've tuned cars... mafless on 1.3bar of boost with a Vortech.

I'm sorry, maybe I read the above post wrong.

Tell you what, I'm just offering some experiance with a Volant intake on my CTSV, which is very close to the GTO under the hood. Good luck!

Not a problem... I can agree, any intake is going to have minimal gains stock vs stock. I really dont feel the car needs that much open air until you've opened up the exhaust side and start picking up real power. At which point the stock airbox and filter become a restriction. This still looks like the best alternative compared to unshielded or even "half" shielded kits.

Yes, but I can't say if I got a gain or not. Befor I had a K&N, plus with all the mods I got 5-15 more HP wouldn't feel like anything.
