Default Battle of the 11-second GTO's (videos)

Last Friday, March 24th, we held the Third Georgia vs. Florida GTO Shootout at South Georgia Motorsports Park in Valdosta. Weather was cool, track was in great shape, but there was a STRONG headwind that probably slowed us down a bit.

The cars are getting faster and faster (than the previous Shootouts). We had a half-dozen or more in the 11's all day long. I thought all of you would enjoy all these 3800-lb, daily-driven, non-sponsored beasts run.

As is our custom for these Shootouts, we have a King of the Hill competition, which is a single elimination heads-up race. We chose the top 16's ETs from the trials and lined 'em up, round by round till we had a winner.

Here are a few videos from the final rounds.

First up, me vs. Dbluegoat. I have an all-motor iron 408 with a forged bottom end, 11.2 CR, FAST 90/90 manifold and TB, a baby cam, and a built automatic with a 2800 stall. DB has a Maggie with cam, methanol, and all the works - tested his new 3200 Vig and cut a 1.57 60':

Next, me vs. the two time champ of Georgia vs. Florida, WavyDavy. His is a Maggie, M6, with all the works and a small shot of nitrous (though his bottle heater died in the middle of the day):

And the championship match, me vs. TrakDay. His is an M6 Procharged Goat with all the works. Wait till you see his traps:

I think about 6 of the last 8 cars were running 11's. Lots of other good runs too. Here's a great race running low 12's (the red one is an M6 with a basic Procharger kit, the black one is basic bolt-ons with a shot of nitrous):

And another great low 12-second matchup during the King of the Hill rounds (both are '05's with a shot of nitrous and basic bolt-ons, I believe):

Now for the fun of it, here's an in-car video of one of my 11-second runs (I was on 11.6 @ 115 all day):

And one more of me during the T&T:

All in all, a great day.

Enjoy! Padre
