Talking Finally I got one!!!!!!

Last night I was handed the keys to my brand new 05 cyclone grey metalic goat. M6, 17". I paid 26,500 which I am happy with. I just send out a ton of emails saying exactly what I wanted and exactly what I would pay. I got a lot of calls back the next day saying that price was impossible (throwing the bullshit flag on that one) Only one dealer called back and said, sure we can do that. So I went to the dealer and had the most painless experience I could ever think of.
HUGE thanks to Slow Z28 for the "inside information"
I think I have put over 100 miles on her in less than 24 hours. I really enjoy this car.
BTW thanks to everyone on this forum for all the great info, I really realized that the more research and information you have before a big purchase the better and more confident you feel about spending the money.

Thanks
UofMn

Congrats on the new car. I test drove two different 6-speed cars and was blown away how nice the ride was. I really want a spice red car. What dealer did you get it from?

BTW - Check out www.modernmuscleofmn.com It's a local car club of late-model enthusiasts. I assume you know about Porky's on University Ave in St. Paul.

Congrats. Do you still go to the U?

If you don't know about these boards, www.mnfbody.com is a popular local board. And www.tcstangs.com has the most people, if you need other local info.

Congrats! Glad I could give you some information for bargaining power. Considering where you told me you were after the first trip to the dealership, that's a pretty big discount, haha. The internet is a wonderful tool

I laughed when you said nice color choice, it actually was the only color they were offering so I took it. I could have gotten a red or yellow one at that price as well but that would never happen. Just sticks out too much. This color is really growing on me, I think I might like it better than the blue or black I was hoping for. Funny how that happens....

Any GTO drivers ever get together and have a day at brainerd or anything???

Thanks

I have the same car and got my deal the exact same way last summer. 6 dealers said "no way" and one said "yes". I bought the car the next day.

Every so often a dealer will work out a good deal. I got lucky in a similar way a year ago on my 05. Nice kill.
