Whats the real TOP speed???
I have seen plenty of videos of these cars hitting the 165 mph speed limiter but what is the actual top speed and what is the limiting factor? Gears, power, aerodynamics, drive shaft???
Thanks

HSV's with the LS2 run over 175 from the factory IIRC.
Top speed is all about bragging rights between guys, but in all honesty most people SHOULDNT take their car to that limit since things change drasticly as the car begins to drift at extreme speeds and the body tends to lift and you dont have control enough to even make a simple lane change without it being extremely unsafe. I tend to lay off the power around 145 to 150 at most. I know the car can continue to accelerate, but I have nothing to prove.

not to mention the tire ratings, people tend to overlook these if they don't change tires for that reason, change their speed limit, and that can get very dangerous.

Over here in Aus the Northern Territory doesn't have a speed limit in certain parts so what ever you feel is the go but just make sure your car is up to it ie tyres brakes etc etc coz a slip up at that speed means instant HISTORY, me well I have had mine up to 250+km/hr speedo stops at 250, 155mph so don't really know...

+1, wait till you have suspension upgrades, the stock suspension I would suspect is not safe at 160 mph plus.
