I'm running the GT2-3 from LPE...for now Been in for about 1.5 years. Great "stockish" all around cam, a little hotter than a LS6 with a perfectly stock idle. Made good power also for such a baby cam.

How about people with LS2 GTO's? That's what I'll be looking at...

stock for stock and mod for mod (LS1 vs. LS2), the milage is about the same. If you're getting 18 city, you're doing pretty good!

hard to say, but mileage has more to do with the tune, and with your foot, than the heads or cam. Modern FI cars are much more stingy with the gas than old carb'd ones.

Even the notoriously inaccurate EPA numbers were 17 city/29 hwy. In town, driving an easy 4 mile commute at maybe 25-30, I get around 13 mph. If you are concerned about gas mileage, forget about the GTO. Weighing 3750 pounds with a 350 hp engine, it barely beats out SUV's in MPG. Even the best engine management systems can't deny the laws of physics.
Do you happen to live in California??? Gas Out here is some of the crappiest junk we could put in our cars (91 Octane is the highest we get). I thought the same thing as you when guys in V8 Camaros & Firebirds are getting about 2-3 MPG more then me. Seems gas is not all the same from state to state. Some places just have better gas. Just to add, I hate all this C.A.R.B (California air resources board) restrictions which doesn't help the MPG

Under the right conditions a '04 GTO with a M6 can most definitely exceed 30 mpg. You gotta be somewhere that it's really flat.

The most mpg I've gotten in my 06 GTO was 28 mpg on the highway. But it really wasn't normal driving conditions for me and I was actually trying to see how many mpg i could get out of the goat. I was going 65 mph on the highway using cruise control at 2 a.m. for a 3.5 hour trip so i didn't need my air conditioner and windows were up.

Under normal driving conditions i get about 15-16 mpg in the city and a consistant 24 mpg on the highway.

If you get the '04 A4 I'd recommend getting diablosport and K&N CAI. I've got as high as 27 mpg hwy with those two mods on my '04 A4.

Default A4 fill up this morning!!

Put in exactly 18 gallons, the trip meter read 331 miles.
Thats 18.38888 per gallon. But my car is new and I've been driving it like
an old lady with cataracts.

I wasn't worried about gas mileage when I bought it. It's all about the performance. The day I get tired of getting less than 20 mpg in the city is the day I'll trade the GTO in which will be never! lol
