2006 Spice Red Metallic A4 Pontiac GTO. I've always loved the styling of the new ones. I think they have a subdued and understated aggressiveness about them. From some angles they look downright mean to me and I love the natural rake of the body lines. I had to test drive one to make sure it was what I really wanted though and after putting in a few miles behind the wheel I was thoroughly impressed with the car. There isn't a thing about it I don't like. And once I saw the Spice Red Metallic I knew it was all me. I went ahead and got an A4 to discourage modding (I test drove two M6 cars and already was thinking of mods starting with the shifter and clutch as I liked neither) and also since its going to be a daily it'll be alot nicer to just get in and drive.
Only mods are going to be appearance related and are going to happen very soon (tint, wheels, and small exterior enhancements)... maybe a few bolt ons down the road. I'll save the real mod money for building up my 88 Fox body drag project and to put towards the future replacement for the Trans Am as my fun weekend car... C5 Z06 in a few years.
There isnt a thing about this car that I dont like. The more I drive it the more I appreciate everything about it. I hate to see my Trans Am go but I'm very glad to be into a GTO. It makes losing my baby a little easier.

No kidding Chris. Good to have a sounding board to make sure I wasnt totally crazy in getting the car (just half way crazy).
I dont know exactly what Holden did to these cars but they just have alot more grunt than my Trans Am ever did when it was stock. I havent nailed it yet, still breaking it in, but just part throttle getting around town I only need a little throttle to pull away from traffic fast. And on the highway I can just give it a little gas but not enough to make it downshift and I can make a pass with ease. I dont know if its the extra torque and power from the LS2 over my LS1 Trans Am but the it doesnt take much and the car rolls out (and even comparing my Trans Am now to the M6 GTOs I test drove in the M6 GTOs you dont even need to downshift out of 6th gear to pass someone even if you're only going 60-70mph, they just move a little easier).
Stay tuned, only a few more break in miles then I can go WOT and we'll see what she's really got.

Ya know, having an A4 can actually be an advantage at the track, makes it a little bit easier to 60' with a good stall. It would definately support future mods. Absolutely beautiful car!

I love the color.
Ever since I saw your other thread (dusk pictures after detailing the car) I've been smitten with SRM. Unfortunately they seem quite rare and I don't know if I'll be able to find one when the time comes.
I just realized that SRM is a 2006 color... drat I was hoping to find an 05 in that color.
