BMR markets a re-badged airlift kit. For $100-$120, it is hard to beat the results. I am probably going to ditch mine soon for a full adjustable suspension, but the airbags kick *** in the bang for the buck category. However, if you plan to spend big dollars on the suspension, go ahead and skip that stepping stone.

As I said, bang for the buck VS long term done right. Some people can afford to do all the things the factory would have done if this car sold for 50K, and some people need to just get their car to act right for a minimum of expense.

Drag bags are a great bargain; i almost bought some.

Heard about the drag springs and will put the money into them instead.

One ? how much does the rear get raised putting the springs in.

Sorry about the thread hijack.

5/16th of an inch...just over a quarter inch. This is mine with a 275-35-18 tire and the drag springs. The fender gap is identical front and back. 2 fingers. Most GTOs are sagged way the hell out, my stock springs made it look like I had a dead hooker in the trunk.

i run the airlift 60727 bags. much cheaper and basically the same bag as the bmr. i did a really clean install, so it took me a lil while. most guys cut down their bumpstops, but i just drilled through mine and countersunk the nipple. stay away from some of airlifts models b/c some have the airlines exiting out the side of the springs, and they have a tendancy to tear that style nipple off the bag.

ive been running BMR's drag bags for quite some time...i origionally purchased them so i could run 11.5" slicks for the track. they really helped me out bigtime at the track, i get NO wheelhop (though its probably a combination of the Bags and the solid Diff mount the harrop diff cover comes with, and the slicks themselves)

I actually have a set of the airlifts with the hose exiting out the side and i love them so far (4k miles). You don't have to cut the bump stops, which was the cincher for me. The nipples are very flexible (it sits between the 2nd and 3rd coil) and I haven't heard of anyone tearing them.

I have had bad traction issues with the bags the springs are the way to go. 1.52 60's without them 1.79 with them.

^^^ I agree ^^^

I have the same set-up as Ex Turbo for the most part. I have been in the 1.7x's for 60's consistant and PB of 1.64, with bags and slicks!!

In the furture I will probably run the Pedders Drag Springs and bags for insurance. I have seen two local guys with springs and other Pedders parts at the track both wheel hopping badly... but driving and tires help too! Last I knew they were both swapping to better tires, so we'll see what happens next time I catch up with them!
