New GTO
Yeah its great to hear somepeople think this is just a Grand Prix but we havn't been able to build a proper grand prix then have we????
But before you bash this great aussie built car for it being called a GTO, remember this the GTO nameplate was stolen from Ferrari by GM. GTO iteself is an ambiguious name yeah Grand Turismo Omlangato whatever. Australian GM cars have been what america has missed out on for about the last 30 years and definatly the last 10.
But what is even more intriging is 33 years ago one of the most inspirational australian built cars was debuted, The GM Holden HQ sedan and Monaro, the body style carried alot of GTO and pontiac styling cues and was with an available 350 chevy engine. This was due to the orginal GTO designers being on assignment in australia at the time. 30 years later Australian engineers are supplying the GTO to america Almost ironic if you ask.
And the whole SLP thing.. Don't bother, the monaro V2 itself is breathtaking, the way a car should be built.
