Rarest GTO?
 

I'm seriously thinking about getting one of these in the next 6 months...
But im curious as to what is the rarest Gto out of the '05-'06's.
Im looking to get an '06 in either that Pulse Red, or BOM with a M6 and black interior...are those among the rare ones?

Go to LS2GTO.com and ask/search. That site has the most info on them. I only know the 04's---Barbados Blue Metalic is the rarest followed by Cosmos Purple Metalic. Sorry I couldn't help more.

purple '04s are pretty rare, but for a reason. They weren't that popular even new.

I've only seen two other orange ones driving around in the last 2 yrs. The metallic red and also cyclone gray are pretty uncommon as well.

I would agree w/the Cosomos purple and the Barbados blue being the two rarest.

They only made about 600 total and "They all sold"! I have one now and had another. Me likes me some PURPLE. The BOM's should be pretty rare as well, they are unique too.

Carmax.com has quite a few Cosmo Purple '04's for sale. Just not for me.
I found a Cyclone Grey Metallic one in Panama City beach that looks beautiful...
i'm in a three way tie between, the grey, orange, and that metallic red one. More towards the metallic red one than any. What exactly is that color called?
Does anyone have a built count for the colors offered in
'06 ?

Pulse and Torrid. The Pulse is like the pic in your sig.

Pulse Red was only offered in 2004. The color you are probably thinking of is Spice Red for 2006.

The GTOs are judged in rarity by a combination of four choices offered to the buyer....exterior color, interior color, type of transmission, and wheel size. The rarest of all the GTOs was the 2005 Quicksilver, red interior, A4 transmission, and 18" wheels. There were only 14 produced with that exact combination.

In 2005, there was a small number of GTOs ordered with the hood scoop delete option...I think the number was 6 or 7. Information on the colors and whereabouts of those cars is sketchy at best.

As someone else said, go to ls1gto.com and search "production numbers". There are sticky threads that show the final production numbers of all the combinations for each year.

Everybody knows the Impulse Blue Metallic is the fastest though.....

BJZ optioned 05's. 24 made, basically just has an 04' scoopless hood.

color wise barbados blue is the rarest 04 (573 total) , yellow jacket for 05, and then the brazen orange for 06.

Then you can get into all of the interior color, wheel sizes, and transmission options.

Pulse Red, Barbados Blue, and Cosmic Purple if you're getting an '04. Midnight Blue Metallic if you're getting an '05. Brazen Orange Metallic or Spice Red if you're getting an '06 (although Brazen was a very popular limited color, build numbers are the same but it seems out of all the rare colors through all the years this is the most common one to see on a more regular basis).

Personally for me I absolutely LOVE Barbados Blue, but I have actually seen every color of GTO in person except for Pulse Red and Midnight Blue Metallic so in my mind those are the highest on the scale of rarity.

It is a great color isnt it :) You make spice red look absolutely amazing with your pictures though.

I saw my first cosmos purple last week. Seen every other color some where around.

Silver/Red interior is the rarest of ALL GTO's....
The Non scooped cars are rare in 05 too...
Barbados and Purple are rare for 04...
Midnight Blue for 05 is rare and a 1 yr color like BB and Purple

I have Torrid Red/Red and I love it but if I were going to get one more GTO it would be Black/Red/18's...

This might not be the rarest but it looks the best :)
