Default GTO test drive (kinda long)

So me and a couple friends have had a long running debate, whether or not the new GTOs were fast (they say "slow cows" compared to f-bodies) I've loved these cars since they first came out. If I could own one, it would probably be as a daily driver. Anyways, back to the story. Me and one of the opposition go to a delearship and find a blue (dont know the exact name) 2005 GTO. its an auto, which we really didn't want but we took it nonetheless. I had personally driven 2 LS1s and an LS2 before so I knew the m6's were fast, but damn! this auto surprised even me. I let my friend do the talking and he gets to drive so we get out and it scratches into 2nd and 3rd! My next words to him were, "welcome to the dark side" Needless to say my friend was thoroughly impressed and has now come to my side....now only 2 more to go. We went and drove an auto LS1, just to be fair, and we both agreed that the LS2 was where its at. That 50 extra hp is whats needed to hold dead nuts with the ls1 f body. Just thought I'd let everyone know you now have a new fan!

DO NOT TURN THIS INTO A FLAME WAR OVER GTO VS F-BODY, OR LS1 VS LS2. PLEASE!

Nice man score one more for the GTO. It really takes only a ride in a GTO for people to like it.

Thats all it took for me. I test drove one back in 04 when they first came out. That said I just finally got mine 3 weeks ago. It's a perfect condition 04 wiht 24k miles on the clock. Not as fast as an ls2 but a good deal cheaper. I've yet to take someone for a ride that doesn't end up a "convert"

P.S. New to this part of ls1tech, I had been in the truck section until this new purchase.
