Default 26x10x15''s On IRS???

Ok guys...I'm not really all up to date on my GTO knowledge. I was curious if you could fit a 26x10 on a GTO with out it rubbing. I was trying to get my dad's goat track ready for next week and we keep running into a problem with them running the inner fender well, shock and even the rolled fender lip. Am I SOL???? or is there a way to make this work?

I'm running a MT DR, 275/50/15, 15x10 prostars with 7.5"bs. stock springs, drag bags. had to space the shock inward about 1/2" on the bottom, beat the **** out of the inner fenderwell and cut the lip out of the inside of the quarter.

I think that's 26x10 on the tire, or at least close to it. I wouldn't run that tire on a 15x8 rim, as some have done. I think it ballons the tire out too much and creates evn bugger problems. for normal street driving, which is what i primarily do, I run my bags deflated, no rubbing. I run 10psi on the track, just to stiffen it up.

Its really going to depend on the rim offest, but ive seen guys running them...Unfortunately i dont have specifics on what those offsets need to be, but your pedders springs should help with the tires hitting the fender at least.

I run a 26x11.5x17 on the stock 17" gto wheels with no rubbing at all...i have pedders 5/16 raise springs and big bore shocks though...when i was closer to stock i was running just drag bags, i dont think they will work with the stock stuff under a strong launch.

Im running mt et drags 26x10x15's on jegstars. no rubbing for now..I put in adj. spring spacers and lifted the rear 2". plus the backspacing on my rears are 4.5 I should have gotten 5.5 so they stick out about 1-1.5" past the fenders. "it gives it a 70's look. but hey I only have 50.00 invested in the front/rears. and I pull 1.7 60ft. on stock suspension. m6 car.

go to advance auto/oreilly's or a auto parts store. tell them you want some spring spacers. and pick up two sets' . need two per spring. and put them in. get the adj. ones you can raise the car up to 3 " with them. only 20.00 for two sets. here is the style you want. that will fix your rubbing problem.

here are some pics... please don't laugh.. and remember I only have 50.00 in the front's and rears...

coil spring spacers. this is what you want.

I use MT ET Drags 26x10x15" on Bogart Welded R/T's. I beat in the inner fender with a hammer and trimmed some of the black plastic on the driver's side of the car. I have 5/16" drag springs and drag bags to reduce the squat at the track.. this set-up nets me 1.5x-1.6x short times consistantly!
Do a search on LS1GTO.com, I did a quick write up about this.....
