Cali's been crushing street racer's cars for years - I'm sure this isn't the first one over 50k and probably not the most expensive one either.

illegal seizure and destruction of private property imo.

You can force the guy to take the vehicle off the road, but I don't believe that this is at all a reasonable or legal thing for them to be doing.

then again.. CA has it's own way of doing things.. it's not part of the same country I live in.

i would never pay $60k for a lexus. I've looked at the Is350s many times, just not my thing.

I agree it shouldn't be legal but look at all the other **** that goes on in this country that isn't constitutional or should be against all we believe in.

^if you have an expensive car like that that your paying off and you don't have gap ins then you deserve to loose all that $ imo.
what a waste tho, seriously, isn't CA still cash strapped? why aren't they auctioning these cars off??

They crush your car over a traffic ticket?

I completely understand the hazards of street racing. I also understand that it's foolish for them to think they can stop it from happening. It's ridiculous that they crush your car; they're overstepping boundaries by a great margin in my opinion.

Cause they arent that smart. They are too busy making other ignorant decision while thinking they are setting the bar. The people in charge in that state are delusional at best.

this is the state banning fast food restaurants from certain areas and making other inane non-business friendly decisions.. then complaining when they can't budget from lack of revenue (and gross over expenditure.)

Not the brightest CFL bulb in the closet.

they could make a lot of money selling these cars. If they REALLY cared that much, they could sell them with a special california title for offroad use only. Could be retitled as normal in another state.

You'd THINK.. the people of CA would be outraged that the state routinely destroys great cars like this when somewhere in the state there's a guy who can't get to work because <insert sob story here.>

Maybe just de-mod the cars, sell the mods, sell the cars as part of a govt auction if you're REALYL worried about all that dangerous HP.

Or ya know.. don't seize people's private property in the first place.

It's illegal as hell imo. As was said before, California is not a part of the country I live in. California is its own little socialist area with all kinds of fun laws. Street racing is dangerous no doubt. But damnit if I build my car to street race with my hard earned, high taxed cash then who the **** decided they could just take that away from me? **** California. I'm so glad I live in the south. We have our problems too, but at least the state has never stolen my ****.

Guys,

I used to live in Commiefornia. They legally cannot take your vehicle and destroy it. They can however, if caught street racing, impound your vehicle for 30 days, take you to jail, and you have to pay stupid amounts of fines. Ask me how I know.

Sell seized cars. Use money to build uncrossable fence at southern border.

Kill 2 birds with one stone.

Write me a check for 5% of sale price each time for coming up with the brilliant idea.
