Default who watches street outlaws?

love the show, but have a weird question. big chiefs Pontiac, why does it pop and jump at the line like it does? he says its because its a turbo car, but I have never seen any other turbo car do that at the line. is it just a publicity type thing for the show? he says that he runs a trans brake, so his car should never move at the line? anyone know?

theres plenty of other very fast turbo cars, and none of them pop and jump like that. even look at jeff lutz's twin turbo 57 chevy that raced daddy dave, his car is retarded fast, 6 second quarters? and his does not pop and jump, just curious if anyone knows why big chiefs car does this?

It's the bump box, it's how you stage a turbo car. There's no reason to be using it on the street though. Grab the first beam, build boost, bump it into the second beam.

sw07gt, can you explain the bump box? ive never even heard of one, how does it work? I have never seen another car use one. why would u have to stage a turbo car any different? I thought you did it exactly how you said, first beam, build boost, let it rip. why all the jumping around?

It allows you to roll forward even though you've engaged the Trans brake.

thanks for the video man. did some more looking into it, seems the only real purpose is to bump the car into the second beam. so why did big chief make such a big deal about staging second against gypsy mike? why even use the bump box on the street? seems like its more of a publicity thing for the show...

Because he's stupid. Just pull up, get up on the brake and spool, flip your lights on and go.

It's routine. Do it the same way everytime. But he wants to stage last to make sure his boost is up I imagine. If he bumps in first you can burn him down. Trans get hot!

On the street you don't need to bump in at all.
