The top one is a Rock Island Arsenal that I purchased in 2005 when those were just starting to come out. All I have done to it was polish up the feed ramp and she's never had a problem firing any of the different types of rounds I've put through it over the years. Best $300 I ever spent, haha! This is the one I usually keep in whatever vehicle I'm driving.

The bottom one is a Sistema Colt from Argentina. I think it was made in the early 50's, but I can't remember right off hand. Found it in late 2005 in a shop that had no idea what it was and paid $400 for it. All the numbers match except the magazine. I took out the original barrel and put in a nice aftermarket one so I could shoot it without putting more wear on the numbered original.

If I want something that's going to have higher capacity for carrying, I'll sell the Smith and Wesson and look for something like that Lugar that carries 19.
FYI the Keltec P-11 will hold the S&W5900 series mag (15 rounds)+1 = 16 rounds of nastiness in a very small package
Home defense = 12 ga (sawed off legal) with bird shot and a few slug chasers!!

P-11 is a double stack, I believe yours is a single stack.
Maybe I should get this to stick in my boot http://www.armsunlimited.com/ProMag-...e-p/kel-a3.htm

Ruger SR9 is what fits me best and I am the most comfortable with on my hip or in a coat pocket.

Glock 19 gen3 loaded with Federal HSTs and a spare mag. I use a Galco Triton holster on my 4:00. Love my setup.

Do any of you have a Glock 20 in 10mm? Just curious how you like shooting the 10mm round.

I generally carry a Gen4 Glock 19 carried in a Raven Concealment Systems Phantom Modular Holster, Surefire XC1 light, and 15+1 rounds of 124gr Doubletap 9mm+p, G17 spare mag. Had to throw in some eye candy picture filler to go with the G19

When I need to have something much easier to conceal, my goto is generally a S&W M&P340 13oz jframe loaded with 125gr Corbon DPX .357 mag.

That's badass. I'm pretty damn addicted to buying guns now. I want to purchase a Springfield 1911 Range officer or Loaded in stainless form and a Glock 20 10mm. I kind of wish I'd have done some research before buying the Smith and Wesson M&P Shield because if I had, I probably would have bought a Glock 19 3rd or 4th gen because of the magazine capacity.

Whats the opinions on M&P9 vs M&P9 Pro? It would be a home defense/potential carry gun. I know the Pro has longer barrel and better trigger. I can find either of these guns used with a $50-$75 difference...

They are awesome. A little bit of a premium on ammo, but not what it used to be.

150 gr Cor-Bon @ 1325 fps is not bad at all

HPR makes a 180gr XTP @ 1270 fps that looks interesting

The real high test Buffalo Bore, Underwood, and Double Tap usually needs a 22lb recoil spring. Even with that you are moving to the edge of the pressure curve.

Did you buy your Glock 20 new? Looks like I can get a brand new Glock 20 for around $550.00, which isn't bad. Double Tap 230 grain for a defense load.

The two are completely different sizes, plus single vs double stack. Hands down, the Shield is much easier to conceal. Obviously the main trade off is reduced rounds.

I dont know that I would choose one over the other. I tend to go with the largest gun that I can comfortably and easily conceal given my dress and the environment. This means having more than one concealable pistol/revolver to pick from.

Its always nice to have something small for those days that you cant carry a larger weapon. If you only have one larger gun to pick from, your gonna end up leaving it at home from time to time.

Just for comparison, these were pulled from a thread on the AR15.com website:
Shield vs G19

That's a good comparison of the two. I've never seen them side by side before. While the Glock is physically bigger, I don't think it's that much bigger or would hinder me from concealing it.

The little 3 incher is ALWAYS strapped to my ankle every single day... it's chambered in .45 and holds 10+1 rounds. I switch it up between the 4 others.

Those are some damn nice guns you go there Carlos. The 4 others are all 1911 style pistols, correct?

Yup all are 1911. I have shot a kimber 1911 and was just a nice awesome gun and you pay for it. Shot a Taurus and Springfield armory 1911 and all shot great. Pick your poison lol. Hopefully shoot this Sunday!
