In NY state spring lasts about three days. It goes from months of using a blow torch to keep your ***** from freezing to 3 days of awesome weather to months of sweating standing still in the shade. Then fall comes and we get three more nice days.

^^^
It was really frustrating to live in TX for that reason. The track wouldn't open until May and there were maybe two Fridays of decent weather before temps started matching humidity and it was **** for the rest of the season. Track would then close before it would cool off. Fortunately Houston would stay open until November and it was at zero elevation.

So just how cold did it get over there to crack the manifold?

That sucks! What kind of manifold was it by the way?

Yes I believe it does but winter here is pretty much the rainy season so you know how that goes. It was Royal Purple Raceway back when Hurricane Harvey came through and at that time it was a holding grounds for flooded cars and closed to the public. Thankfully we have HMP which is an 1/8 mile track but everything was cleared out before the NHRA events that following Spring and it was nice to see they put some $$ back into the place. I'm sure they made a fortune from Houston on that deal!

I loved HRP. Always saw damn near 3/10th's less off ET and 2mph more from that track compared to Ennis' 700something ft. elevation. Seemed back then (late 90's) they took care of the track and always had enough VHT on hand.

I was halfway joking, it was about 12 degrees when I decided to drive it to get something to eat, just to keep the battery up. Wasn't even thinking of being hotrod jones, so I had the cutout closed and gave the stereo a good workout. But as I was cruising, I thought "this thing sure is loud, thought I closed the cutout", so I hit the button again.... still loud. Turned down the stereo and goosed it a little, and thought uh ohh. Get to where I'm going and popped the hood and that's when I discovered it. If I feel up to it, I will pull it off tonight and get it welded Monday. It's a C6 manifold.

Cold and winter has stooped to a new level here today. The -22F morning temp was quite a wake up call, but at least it's warmed up to a nice -11F for the afternoon.

There are absolutely no "fun" outdoor activities in these conditions, at least not for me, unless said outdoor activity is to travel to a different region with better weather.

Haha. Well, I'll just go ahead and say it so that Game ova doesn't have to.... today, finally, Demon owners will have no issue meeting or beating factory advertised trap speeds.

It's one of those days where you get an insta-frost coating inside your nose every time you inhale outdoor air. This is some serious polar ****. I remember one day being almost this cold back in the winter of '13-'14 but, other than that, it's been a very long time since we've been at or lower than -20F in this region.

Haha, I'm STILL waiting!! Haven't checked in a while, but I'm not sure anyone has clicked off the advertised numbers thus far. TBH, i've kinda forgot about the car.
