Default Best multi-purpose tires?

What I got now does not have enough traction for autocross. Looking for a good multi-purpose tire, Michelin Super Sport? Or......?

If you need to stick with a 200 tw tire run either bfg rival s or Bridgestone re71r. The Bridgestone and BFG are the top two performing 200 tw tires. These will be you the best grip on the autocross you can have with a 200 tw street tire. They will become greasy after several hot laps on the road course. I would not use either of these tires for daily duties. The tread life is not good for street duty. If you need the best traction and don't care about tread life go with these. If you require more treat life and can give up, traction use a different tire. It is a balance. Good track tires will not have good tread life. Good street tires will not have good traction on the track.

It would help to know what tires you are currently using, and how you plan to use the new tires.

Sumitomo HTR Z 111 274/35/18 square. Car drifts at the limit due to grip.
Use street & autocross.
BMR springs, Koni STR shocks. Strano sway bars. Founders Adj. panhard bar. Front alignment toe 0 deg. camber -1.5 deg.

If you are going to have just one set of tires I would not run the rivial or re71r. Unless, you not going to put a lot of street miles on them. The best way to go is have two sets of wheels and tires. Street and track. You are not going to be able to get the grip out of a true street tire for the track.

Michelin Pilot Super Sports are probably what you want if you're going to be doing mostly street driving and occasional autox/track use.

They have the wear quality and grip for the track.

Whats the best dual purpose tire in a 275/40r17 for a factory 17x9 wheel? Or just run some super sports in the 265/40r17 size offered?
