I think stock c5/c6 hubs would be better than Fbody hubs due to the reduced distance between the spindle mounting face and wheel mounting face. Less distance = less moment arm/forces on the bearing IMO.

IF ANYTHING happens to my SKF hubs and it's not a warranty defect (meaning I need to buy another set), I would look into trying stock c5/c6 hubs.

Agreed. The regular C5 bearings are definitely better than the regular f-body bearings.

I toss a factory vette hub once a year, which is much nicer than my f-body which was every weekend.....

Camaro killed 23 hubs in 2 years vette has done 1 in 1.5 lol

For the Camargo rear (1st to 4th gen), I would consider welding on the Moser axle ends which convert your 10 bolt to Ford-style bolt in axles. You get some very beefy bearings and get away from c-clip retained axles/pad knock back without the leakage issues associated with drag race bolt on bearing approach. There's a cost (need to get axles too) but the setup works well for me.

That, and I switched to C6 front hubs a couple weeks ago. Working very well so far.

Is there a kit that retains the stock rear brakes? I've been looking for info on road race worthy c-clips eliminators, but it is tough to find info.

I would call Moser, but in a nutshell, yes. I use modified 4th gen backing plates (slot cut to slip over axle, see my thread), with stock 4th gen rear discs on my car.

I'm not sure what he is charging for just a deposit, but the total price I paid for a set he had in stock was $475 shipped. This included all hardware and electrical connectors to bolt it on the car, along with detail instructions.

I haven't heard or seen anyone running them.

I emailed them before... $506 per side

The adapter flange bolts directly to the spindle upright. The hub remains in the stock location and utilizes the standard brake rotor and caliper.

This is a traditional bearing on spindle kit, not modular unit like the existing piece or the c5/c6 hubs.

I feel like the bearing on spindle setup would be more durable, would just have to keep an eye on the wheel bearings? Is the SFK,or hoosier... corvette setup alot better?

Coleman doesn't allow for ABS. You have to assemble them, pack the bearings with grease, adjust them to roll/spin correctly.

The Rocketman adapters and c5/c6 hubs are just bolt on and go. ABS is retained

Same price or just a bit more if you use xtracker c5/c6 hubs.

Good to see another option though!

A friend of mine confirmed what I thought to be true after taking measurements, that base C5 hubs won't work with Rocketman adapters. The hub (on the backside) on the base hubs are too tall requiring a deeper pocket/bore on the adapter. Because of this, you lose some features of the adapter and they won't work.

Just thought I would share.

That is good to know. Do you know what brand of hubs he tried? OEM?

Yes, I assume spare OEM hubs. He races a C5 A LOT and knowing him I suspect they were OEM units.

I tried to design my own adapter taking measurements off of a hub from Autozone. The measurements I got made me scratch my head thinking "no way this will work". Since then I have left that project (since machine cost was double what Jim sells them for). He texted me out of the blue saying the spare base hubs he had laying around would not work with the adapters. I do not have a base hub and SKF version side by side to know exactly how they differ though.
