has any one tried using strange engineering hubs? probably cut some unsprung weight since they're aluminum. not sure how they would holdup since they're technically for drag

the one you're referring to is a whole drag assembly: spindle/hub/strut. Bearing itself wouldn't take lateral forces nor would the setup be rr/autox friendly

why not?
do they use smaller bearings?

Aluminum is too soft a material for hubs.

The distance between the spindle mounting surface and the rotor mounting surface on the Timken hub is ~70mm. What is that same distance using the Dulaney adapter + SKF race bearing?

The SKF hub and adapter is the same overall distance as a stock hub.

Strano is selling the same adapters and hubs. I dont think he'll do the ARP bolts, but that's an easy swap. Or the C5 XTracker hubs are easy to find from other places.

Yup, not much to the adapter. Simple 3 bolt to 4 bolt and a hole in the middle.

I've heard that the new C7 hubs are strong as the xtrackers but no ABS provision and are less than 100 bucks. Anyone else know about that?

I thought I heard that as well. But may not be the best idea to dump the ABS capability.

The C7 hubs are X Tracker. The C7 hubs have gone back to a separate part number for front and rear. The front hubs do not have the splines for the axle stub shafts.

Hello, everyone! Out on the hunt for some adapters and oem hubs, and looking through searches of any recent updated on where would be the best place to buy from. Tried emailing Trackbird, no reply. Was about to purchase from Strano, but wondering if the stock c5/c6 hubs would fit the adapters on Strano, just to be sure before purchase. Figure I gotta get the right abs connector as well and make my own kit. Would appreciate any help or resources. Thank you!

Stock C5/C6 hubs are NOT the SKF X tracker hubs people are running...

Trackbird is not the person to contact. You need to email Jim Dulaney jim@design-base.net Jim is the original guy credited with designing the adapter for SKF hubs on Fbody cars. I (along with MANY other...including Danny Popp) have his adapters and they come with all mounting hardware, instructions AND new ABS connectors. Everything you need.

^^^and they come with plans for brakes ducts if you plan to go that route. I have the c5 track brackets so I had to mod them a little and make my in template but I'm happy to share what I have
