Default NE Ohio, NW Pa, Western NY AUTOCROSS

Woot! The course was at the same location but it was a much faster layout this time. I raced in the Novice Stock class which they run with no handicap, just your raw time. I won by over 5 seconds, and didn't hit a cone all day. My times were fast enough to have won the Novice Modified class! There were 20 of us in NS including 2 1LE's a Firehawk, a new GT350 Mustang, and a few older Porsches.

That was my fastest run a 37.326

This **** is so addictive!

Did you do any special preparations to your car like modify the oil system to reduce starvation when cornering?

No point on street tires and bad suspension

I ended up winning the championship in Novice Stock for 2018 (4 wins, a 2nd, and a 5th), and Rookie of the year too! Now I'm running CAMC for 2019. Hopefully going to hit 8-10 events this year plus an EVO School in May. I'll be trying to hit some out of region events in PA just to get a different feel.

I'm down for whatever, but don't want to miss any of my local regions races. Plus I'm racing at UMI at the end of July. What are the dates for that Champ Tour?

May 17th-19th. Registration opens at 7pm on April 3rd and if you intend to go I would suggest signing up within the first 2 hours. It should fill up real quick. It is your region but it looks like it isn't counted for the local season points.

My region is Western, NY. That race is not counted for sure. We run at the Seneca depot a few times but mainly at New Era Field in Buffalo. The Finger Lakes Region uses Seneca as their "home" field. I'm assuming that since it is a national race there will be some very stiff competition and some very deep fields. I'm hitting the EVO School the week before, and a different race the week after. I'll have to see how it plays out as time gets near.

Saw you and Paveglio both got signed up. I will be there in...something. Still finishing up put the engine back together after the FAST 102 and M29 swap and I'll have to get the tune working. If ESP doesn't make a class I'll bump to CP or dig the year old Rivals out of the basement and run CAM-C. Or I'll just hop into a C7 GS and run SSR. Who knows.

I honestly expected a bigger CAM turnout. I''m a little disappointed. I had totally forgot about this race, but my friend Bill reminded me last night. He has a 1LE SS also in CAM. He's faster than me but I've been closing the gap. I'll probably be dead last lol. Will they lump all of the 3 CAM classes together to make a bigger class? Or will they keep them separate?

Tours always run separate. If people don't get 5 in a class they will usually bump up to the next class the car is eligible in. XP is almost always a bunch of SP and SM cars that didn't make numbers that all moved up to have somebody to run against. CAM usually only makes really good numbers down south and in the midwest. ESP is looking weak as well. The MS6 is missing from the lineup and none of the more southern/eastern cars signed up. I think some people just don't want to tow that far and also are a bit worried about the weather in NY that early in the season.

I usually avoid the CAM grid on purpose. I'm easy to spot though, 5'5" with kanji on my arm

No way in hell could I bump up lol. I could run A-Street against a sea of new Z06 Vette's or run CAM-S against a sea of new Z06 Vette's.

EDIT: might have a co-driver coming too. So possibly 5 of us in the class. Maybe Bill will have a co-driver as well. There's about 15 local WNY guys already registered.

Last weekend I did a race at the Misery Bay Region in PA. They race at Lake Erie Speedway in the NW corner of PA. I had a blast! CAM class had 10 cars in it. A few were modded very well. Winner was a nasty 5.0 Mustang on 315's. I didn't get comfortable until my last 2 runs. Stupid me kept too much air in the tires. I started at 40, then went to 38, to 35, then finally down to 30 on the last 2 runs.

Winner ran a 30.490, the fastest time of the day was a 30.313 or something like that. My best run was a 31.643 and I ended up 4th.

Heres the Mustangs best run:;
