Default Racing Pedal Box

Has anybody ever installed a racing pedal box in their car? Are there any specific parts you can recommend? Anybody have some cool pictures of their racing pedal setups? Thanks in advance everybody!

Has nobody ever thought about that sort of thing?

I doubt that it hasn't been thought of, more likely not been a necessity.

I just don't see why the hell not? Great pedal positioning for a great driving experience! With a proper racing seat and a proper steering wheel and shifter, it's a necessity to have a great set of pedals don't you think?

Pedal placement is usually limited by space so not many ways to change it up unlike seats and steering wheels. When I raced Micro Sprints I spent a ton of time getting the seat mounted and adjusted in just the right spot, Steering had a little adjustment (up and down) but was never my concern because it always was pretty close after setting the seat. The most I have done with pedals is replace or remove the pad so that my foot wouldn't slip off of it.

I added grippy pedal covers to my Camaro and Corvette. Ran a spacer on the gas pedal to raise it for years. Just recently I replaced the pedal assembly and found that mine was bend down, so omitted the spacer on the replacement pedal assembly. Makes it easy to heel/toe on the downshift. The covers are made for the 4th gen, so they're contoured to match.

I never knew that spacers existed. Thank you so much for that piece of important information!

The covers exist, I cut the spacer out of OSB.

I made an oversized gas pedal out of aluminum and covered with grippy floor mat material. The larger size is to heal-toe (or more like ball of foot on brake and side of foot on the gas). Works good for my non-actual racing needs.

^^^ I'm not 100% sure on the brand above, however I've always thought SRP Racing's 4th gen pedals would be a good addition to the car.

Mine are the pyramid grid pattern. They look like SRP, but I could swear I got them made by someone else. They're great, I couldn't race the way I do without them. I've driven other f bodies on track and without the pedals the cars are just more difficult to live with at the limit.
