I drive my car just as hard on the streets so why not have the best pads,oils, ect.. in all the time and only check them at the track? Or does every on do that anyways? Mobile sythtic oil, Redline, and watter wetter!! OH and the D pads for the wilwoods. They squeek on the street under little braking but it is so worth it <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

If you drive your car on the street as hard as it can be driven at the track, then yes, you should maintain that same level of prep all the time. And wear a Medic Alert bracelet, have your organ donor card up to date and your insurance paid in full.

Just because I run Mobil 1 and have upgraded brakes doesn't mean I should drive the car like I was at Watkins Glen all the time, either.

So b/c you guys don't drive your cars haed on the street you don't put the best fluid in it? What I am saying is are you guys just saveing money or what. Redline and RoyalPurple is worth the money every day for the price compared to fixing car parts that brake.

Yes, I've run Mobil 1 since the beginning. I run their oil in the rear, as well.
I run Castrol brake fluid at all times, DuraStop pads on the street and Hawk 'black' at the track.
The radiator is factory fluid, as is the trans.
I flush the trans before every new season and replace with fresh, as well as the differential fluid gets replaced every other event.

I use Havoline 10W30 ...

For the difference in price, I can change it every 500 miles and get better protection.

Fossil oil breaks down under heat quicker that the exotics. But if one changes it more often, then that issue is moot.

That leaves suspended solids ... at 500 miles, the solids don't have a chance to build up. Exotic oils (any lubricants for that matter) don't help here. So, changing at 3K miles allows the solids to build up.

So, what's the point?

I'm running Mobile 1 at all times, in all locations. I run my Brembo rotors and Carbotech panther pads at all times. I just try not to "need" those things when playing in regular traffic. I think everyone uses the same stuff on the street and track (some may change to a less agressive brake pad on the street). I don't think anyone was really saying that they didn't run the good stuff. It was the point of "driving as hard on the street as the track"....If that's true, either, you don't run very hard on the track, or you probably shouldn't be on the street. I mean we have all done stupid stuff once in a while, but even a stock ls1 car is capable of getting you in real trouble on the street and in a hurry. But, enough lectures (I sound like the judge at my court hearing for my 20-something-th ticket). I run the good stuff always. Happy corner carving.....

Oh ok i get it now the fuids are the same on the street and the brakes some people are changing for the street. And on the street I turn hard and only drive speeds under 100mph on the side streets anything faster than that is for the highway! I have been given 18 or so points but all droped to 6points. Nice to know people in high places!

PS I just got my 27th ticket (ever....) but the first in 4 years (and pulled over 1 hr later for pulling out of a taco bell with a wet parking lot across 4 lanes of traffic....sideways....right in front of a cop.....damn, I hate it when that happens....and I really was trying to behave).....lol
