Hey fellas I recently got rid of my TTII's 17-9.5/11 for a set of 10 spokes. For the entire length of time i had the TTII's, I noticed that the car would go into ABS fairly quickly. Now with the 10 spokes I hardly see ABS engagement on hard braking.

Also when in the canyons, I noticed the front end used to push (understeer). Always thought it was a suspension issue. Now that i have the 10 spokes it feels soooooo much more neutral and fluid through turns.

Could this be because i dropped about ~18 of rotating mass? I found the wheel weights and it comes out to about 14lbs for the rims alone and a lil more for the tires.

Has anyone else noticed this? Or am i just crazy?

You are not crazy, loosing unsprung weight is a good thing!

Dont forget to add the wt of the tires into that equations as well.

For each pound of unsprong wt removed is about 6 1/2 lbs of sprong wt removed from the car itself.

so removing 4 lbs per wheel is 16 lbs or the equivalent of removing 106 lbs out of your car at a minimum.

So yes removing all that wt does help considerable.

My street wheels with tires are 51 lbs my road racing wheels are 39 lbs. that is 12 lbs per wheel or 48 lbs approx 288 lbs removed from the car

NICE!! I knew i wasn't crazy when i realized it felt "ALOT lighter on it's feet."

Now the down side. you get a wheel too light, and on hard cornering there is too much stress on the spokes and they crack.

Ok, so is there a wheel you could recommend about the same size that is lite, yet could handle high stress loads?

actually they are not compared to other race wheels.

about $2500 a set compared to BBS at $4500 a set or others at $5,000 plus a set.

forget steel wheels,

I have seen many F-bodys with American Racing Mag style wheels on road courses.

Think about this, if you reduce your spong wt by 200 lbs, how much HP or cost for the HP would you have to add by keeping that 200 lbs?

A lot more the $3500 for light wt set of wheels and good tires.

Keep in mind you most likely got rid of the push from getting rid of the staggered wheels/tires.
