I have never seen a stock manifold fit in a first gen Camaro or Nova with the steering box in the factory location. Headers are most likely your only option.

I didn't use a rack, but did use a front steer subframe out of a 2nd gen F body on my Nova, which is the same as a 1st gen Camaro, but that was 19 years ago and things have gotten way easier now...

That wire is something you wouldn't need anyway. Check it against the wires that you dont need to do anything to, those should all be the same.
