This is pretty amazing. I was thinking of getting into a 60s era vehicle of some kind and doing a turbo. This is already done... hmm.

Yeah... I would think 24-28 degrees idle spark would be ideal to lower the kPa and make it idle better. However, the smell reduces as you get closer to 18 degrees...

And as an aside, you should...

It's the steam port setup... #7 runs leaner and hotter compared to the other cylinders. Put your fattest injector on it (if flow-matched or flow-benched) and run an aftermarket steam port setup....

kPa of 58 at idle should drive pretty good. I'm surprised you get that reading though with that much overlap in a 376.

I guess I should say... are you reading the gauge or HPTuners? HPT subtracts...

Wonder what the compression and cam look like. I would say 15:1+ and probably something in the solid roller 280-300 @.050" range with a very tight LSA to keep the engines from revving to 8000+...

Another option is going with the K1 3.9" crank and the JE pistons designed for it. They are lightweight. That would give you something like a 406cid that will rev a bit better. Still getting the LS3...

Those cars are lease cars. Never buy them. Weird problems emerge... for example on the E350 we had the a/c system did not drain. It was not designed to drain to the ground--it was captured.

In the...

You aren't getting 1200rwhp reliably out of a 4L60. I would say 900rwhp and it's a wear item.

And that's an FLT Level VII or RPM Level X or whatever. 4L80 is a different beast... but has it's own...

The cam you have isn't great for stockish compression. But it's low overlap means it drives well. I wouldn't mess with it. I would add a turbo to your car... a 7675 with that cam would make a ton of...

I would do one of the truck lobe cams from Comp or Cam Motion or TSP. They work with stock springs. Moving to a Comp Conical spring will last 100k miles I bet.

You didn't even read what I said. You gain efficiency with overlap (it's still an airpump). You can make back up the boost by pulleying down (if you can--which I said) or you simply make more power...

It's not technically correct. You make more power with more overlap. Period. The boost levels go down. But your HP per lbs of boost goes up.

It's why a cam takes 2-3lbs off a blower combo and...

What's the oil pump?

Did you have the 427 running before? Have you changed anything other than the cam?

I have 60+psi cold. Hell I have 55psi hot on my 5.7L with an LS4 pump.

Mmm fully CCW crank.

I think solid roller is still the best way forward. The LLR from Cam Motion is a good street compromise.
