I tore my LS1 down at 166k... didn't have to do too much machine work to it. Punched it out to a 3.905 bore with new pistons, rings and bearings, dropped in a Comp cam and LS6 heads. Motor absolutely...

It had an O2 code when I first started it, so I replaced both O2 sensors with new ones and the codes went away. It has me baffled... definitely don't think its anything internal.

On the camshaft retainer plate, the seal is gone on the back side of it. I guess it was removed at the machine shop... So is that something I can buy or do I need to purchase a new retainer plate?

Just a random question but... I have a good crank out of a 2004 5.3L LM7. It's the same stroke as this LS1 so could I use that crank if this LS1 crank is trashed? The 5.3L crank is perfect, no ridges...

Engine builders, got a crank issue

So I picked my motor up from a local machine shop after having the basic work done. Block bored and honed, crank cleaned and polished, rods resized for ARP bolts, etc... This is a 99 model LS1 btw......
