I am not being disrespectful in the least, in fact, I would argue that people who IGNORE the rules and do whatever they want are being disrespectful....some of you really need to grow up...the rules are very simple and straightforward, why is it so hard to follow them?
Not arguing, just honestly asking two things:

1) Doesn't the threads keep the section active though? Generate more hits = more possible income...

2) Why don't they just allow an "Official BS thread" like all the other major sites do?

The fact that a lot of the people in this section act like that (jr. highers) dictates it...I can't help that people get upset by it's accurateness...it's certainly not directed at anyone in particular...

Good questions...

1) Doesn't the threads keep the section active though? Generate more hits = more possible income...

The sponsors do not care about these kind of threads...they view the hits/threads/posts in the technical forums (where you achieve post counts as opposed to here and the lounge)...let's be honest, how do senseless/chatty lounge-type posts drive up business for auto related sponsors?

2) Why don't they just allow an "Official BS thread" like all the other major sites do?

Why can't people post lounge type threads in the LOUNGE? That's what it's there for...

Because it is different chatting BS with complete strangers in the lounge than people we basically see on a weekly or at the very LEAST monthly basis at the local hangouts... Not to mention inside jokes only Westerners know about each other from attending western events, etc...

Just seems like it would solve the problem for both sides...

The admins agreed to that once, but it got very out of hand and there were a LOT of posts so they asked that we not do it anymore...
