T56 End Play Tool
T56 End Play Tool I have seen this in the T56 manual. I can't seem to find anyone that makes it. I have noticed a few people using a threaded rod with some nuts attached to make the tool. Does anyone have instructions on how to make/operate this home made end play tool?

I found the all-thread rod in my local NAPA. M12-1.75, nuts and some spacers.

How long did you make it? Did you use the dimension from the T56 manual. I see in your image 62 you have a nut a pry bar to exert force to determine endplay. Does the threaded rod thread into the shaft or trans case? Does the spacer actually act as the stop when pulling on the rod with the pry bar?
Also NAPA had the spacers as well or did you find a piece of pipe and cut to length? If so what was the length.

The rod came in 1M lengths, i cut it into about a 16" length.
I now have a bench with 2 holes in it, and a small 1ton bottle jack, to shim both the input and counter shafts.
When doing the countershaft, the spacers keep the nuts off of the front case and the rear teeth, so the counter can "float" between the case races. Without the spacers, the nuts would hit the front case or skew between the countershaft "teeth".
When doing the extension shaft, the rod actually threads into the extension shaft and acts like a 'popcicle stick" The rod moves freely inside of the counter, but is threaded into the extension to allow it to "float" between the counter teeth and tailhousing bearing.
The nuts and spacers were all in the nuts&bolts area of NAPA also.
