You would definitely have to ensure that block clearance was still adequate...I'd hate to see what protruding bolts would do to the block/flywheel with the engine running if there wasn't enough clearance.

I need to pick up 6 bolts too.

Is the non-threaded portion of the new bolts the same as on the OEM ones?

Refresh my memory; is the LT1 PP dowel-indexed?

The new bolt and old bolt seem to be IDENTICAL except for length.

Find correct sized bolts.
If the bolt doesn't go all the way threw the flywheel, how would that happen?

Just tested the bolt, it sits flush with the end of the flywheel "hole", it doesn't stick out past it at all. It's almost like this bolt was made for it. I'm probably going to replace all 6 with them.

I can get pictures if anyone is interested. Just let me know.
