Default T56 shifter location in first gen camaro with Holley mounts

Been searching for quite a while and haven't found what I'm looking for.

Anyone have photos or measurements of the shifter hole in a first gen camaro with an f-body ls1/T56 installed with Holley mounts??

Trying to get an idea how much farther back the new hole will be so I can round up patch material.

Thanks

In the rear T56 mounting position the shifter is at 29.5" from the bellhousing. This should give you a good idea of location.

Thanks for the info, hoping someone has photos of the hole in the tunnel and/or measurements. If not, I'll take some and post them when I finish mine.

What year first gen? Also which t56? Camaro, magnum, cts-v? It makes a difference. I'll post pics of mine, a 67.

You will need to flip the shifter if using a magnum. Then the stock hole is almost perfect.

i can grab pictures later. If I forget just PM me. I've got a 68 using all the hooker/holley swap components and an LS1 camaro based t56. IIRC it's about 3" back from the factory 4 speed hole

'68 camaro, the T56 is out of an f-body, specifically a 2002 trans am

Thanks

I have the same car and engine and trans, but I used an Art Morrison subframe. I had to move my shifter hole back about 4 inches. With my wide aftermarket seats, I had to get rid of the stock console and make my own.

I can take a better picture, but I am running the same setup. I have the Hooker 12618HKR mounts for 67-69 Camaro and here is the hole that I had to cut in my floor. I didn't have to patch anything as the 6 speed fit around everything with plenty of room.

Would you mind measuring from the front of the hole to where the tunnel starts to angle up (red dot area)?? Thanks

Got the 327/muncie out today, need to notch the crossmember for alternator clearance and then I can drop the LS1/T56 in.

On my 68 Firebird with the holley mounts and a 2000 ls1 engine/t-56, the shifter is located 16" back from the bottom of the dash.

Thanks, I already read that thread, unfortunately, "the bottom of the dash" is not a definitive point without photos of exactly where you measured from.
