Corvette C5 manifolds work for 1981 Silverado 5.3 swap?
I know my Truck 5.3 manifold won't fit my chassi on the 1981 Silverado. I Thought some narrower manifolds would work so I bought a set of Corvette C5 manifold, now that I went to put them on the 5.3, the truck motor mounts are on the way.
Can I make this Corvette C5 manifold work on my Squarebody or do I need to got for the TBSS or 2010+Camaro manifold?

Don't those manifolds exit in the center? Not sure the vette manifolds will clear the front crossmember. You might look into some 4th gen f body manifolds. They fit between a narrow frame and exit the rear.
I test fit CTS-V manifolds on a 6.0L in a 1987 G20 van but ended up picking up a set of Speed Engineering C10 swap shorties. Both fit the narrow frame opening of the older vans. My LS swapping buddy was going to give me the manifolds but the flanges I found on Ebay were more expensive than the shorty headers. The shorties had collectors with 02 sensor bungs already added into them so that saved even more $$$. The only bad thing about the headers is the 4L80E needs two aluminum ears trimmed to clear and those ears help hold the conveter cover. The two lower bolts and the oil pan bolts should still hold it snuggly though.
Yeah, the deal on manifolds is to get the pipe stubs w/ flanges and O2 sensor bungs all in one shot.
Agreed but my buddy had already sold the low mileage cats to someone who needed them on a high mileage car. Since Texas checks for the presence of cats here in Texas on 1984 and newer vehicles even emissions exempt ones I am going to have to buy a pair of Thunderbolt cats.
