Default TD, muffler, and more questions

I am looking at putting TD on my 98 z28, and I know I want X over the H but I cant decide on what muffler to use. I am pretty sure I will be going with the Pacesetter lt's, and I think I am going to go with a chambered exhaust. Looking right now at this muffler from Summit. I was just wondering if anyone knows if this is a good product to look more into or keep looking. I don't really have much to spend. I am also not sure if the 3" inlet/outlet will hurt me at all or not. I only have a LID right now and I wont be doing much more than a pro 5.0 in the future. Also, I need to keep smog legal as I will be moving to Denver soon so can anyone tell me where to find some good low priced high flow cats?

Sweet thunders are chambered and cheaper.

If all your going to do is lid and shifter, 2.5" is more than enough. The stickies up top say to build exhaust for clearance and fitment not power.

Good low priced High flow cats-Magnaflow 94109, $60 each on EBAY.

These are the most popular, click to see ad

Site helped a lot.

So If I purchase the Pacesetter LT's, high flow cats, x-pipe, and the mufflers, what else will I be needing keeping in mind they would dump in front of the rear wheels? (I would like to extend them out but I dont think I can afford that at the moment.)

Just a few sections of pipe really. Are you going to do it yourself?

I plan on it, having 2 others that can weld help too. I am considering buying that TSP Kit to take car of the mufflers and sections of pipe, make it go a lot faster putting it on too. Should it in this order when installing: Heads, x-pipe, cats, TSP, or another way?

Headers to cats to TSP duals. You could do it that way, probably save you a lot of hassle. Or you could just buy the cats, buy the sweet thunders, and buy a x-pipe kit from summit racing. The x-pipe kit would most likely take care of all the piping you need

Thats for the 3" kit BTW

You could use that kit and cut up the pipes, and piece something together. And if you needed any short segments of pipe, you could run down to Autozone or Advanced parts

So just by buying the x-pipe from summit racing, that would cut out the need for the tsp kit, correct?

Yes, if you dont mind cutting it up and fitting it. The TSP is already done, the summit kit, you would be making your own duals.

So, Summit kit+sweet thunders+high flow cats=your own custom dual exhaust.

No problem. I am debating hard whether or not to do the duals, all in all, it will be $1500 when its said and done.
