How much for a new set of keys and remote?
How much for a new set of keys and remote? MY keys are sooo woren out now that I can turn the car on, and slide the key out with the ignition still on. Wondering how much yall think itll be for a new set and a remote...please dont say 300 bucks either.
A dealer will rob you for 55-65 for the ignition key and 85 bucks for the remote. You can get the keys on Ebay for 12 bucks but you must know your VATS resistance. There are 15 different resistance values. Easiest way to know hwich one you have is to use a cheap radio shack ohm meter and put the positive on one side of the pellet and the negative on the other. That will tell you what resistance your pellet is and you can buy a blank from ebay for 12 bucks. Then take it to anyplace that cuts keys and your all set. You can buy the fob off ebay for 35 bucks as well. Just make sure the FCC numbers match one of your current remotes and your good to go.

As for the remote, if you have a case with the 4 buttons, you can buy the remote with 3 buttons because the 4th button (panic) is still on the chip. (I don't know why, I think it's stupid
) . I already did this. OOH and to program the remote, look in the owners manual.
You have to
1) Remove the radio fuse.
2) Turn ignition on/off on/off on/off on. All the locks will engage/disengage and the lid will open, indicating that you are in prgm mode.
3) Hold down lock/unlock buttons together for about 15 secs. The locks will engage/ disengage to indicate the remote is programmed.
4) Repeat step 3 for up to 5 remotes.
5) don't forget to replace the radio battery.

if you guys are still looking for the FoB remote thingies. i work @ a repo yard out here in texas, and i have literally a bag FULL of those lil remotes. all sizes all shapes all button configs hell even all the different numbers available for them. fords/chevs/gmc/pont/chryslers all of them, it's a nice stash i hope to make some $$ off some day.
yeh its kinda underhanded, but i always take the remotes off the cars when we get them. i mean wtf, the car is gonna go to auction, i could make better use out of the remotes than some douche bag who buys the car.
if any of you need them, find your right numbers and look me up could work out a deal.
