darton sleeved ls2 block for FI and high power

Both the cars in my sig run the ERL blocks. This was the second season running the LS1 version. Neither blocks have shown any signs of trouble. The changes ERL is now making to them will make them even better and will allow us to make more power by keeping the heads down. '08 is gona be a good year.

For what it's worth...I just won a LSX block and sold it...
Happened to a buddy of mine with a 402ci & TTiX kit pushing 900rwhp. And you want to talk about boring it out even more than the stock bore? It won't be a matter of if, but when.
If you want reliability at that power level, go with the iron LSX or Warhawk, and even then, there's still no guarantee.
Where are you getting this 20% number?

1,000 RWHP in a resleeved LSx is a ticking time bomb, period. If anyone thinks any different, they're a MORON.
A GM LSX iron block is a different story.

-Mike Brown runs a resleeved block. He's also running in the high 7s.
-Both of the old Hardcore Racing cars were running C5R blocks. The blue car ran mid to high 7s. The black car ran mid to low 8s.
- Look at all of the twin turbo cars lingenfelter puts out: http://www.lingenfelter.com/Lingenfe...06ZO6TTBGB.htm
- Need any more examples or all these people morons too?

Tell you what, Come to Bradenton in January and watch us MORONS run. Then come to Orlando in October and see how our "time bomb" is still doing. If all is well and were still running faster than you... Come back on here and tell everybody who the real MORON is. Deal?

The nice thing is that if detonation wipes out a piston is that we can either bore it larger or just replace that sleeve, not the block if it doesn't throw the rod out.
Mikes LS1 block went through a bent crank, stock oil pump failure, spun rods in the yellow car and was inspected, light honed and is the block that he ran this year and went 7.92 on, won the shootout and still going.
The nice thing with Mike and Steve is that the cars don't sit. If there's a race that week they're running.
If I remember correctly you didn't like our 500" engine that SAM built either and that's been since 2005. I'll see if Linda can wave at you as she's driving by. After being the dyno mule, she ran low 10's on pump gas at the shootout her first time out. That's NA, no NOS and too much gear. It handles bouncing off the rev limiter going through the traps too. Not to mention the others running hammer down through the desert, race gas "street" cars, daily drivers ....
It's impossible to say generic that sleeved factory blocks are bad. It's a matter of who does it, builds and tunes it. We've all read threads on here where there are issues with the "Bulletproof" builds that you pointed out.

Is it a wet sleeve LS1? Just curious...
In any event, I have many daily driver MID installations in northern climes running now for years with no problems. One customer drove his car from Michigan to Death Valley where it was near 130 degrees. No overheating issues at all with his MID sleeved 427.
