That is true as far as winning the race in the 1/4 since whoever gets there first wins. But MPH does serve a purpose to show how much power a car is making.

Sweet! I wasn't knocking his combo I was just saying what we all say...trap speed or go home...I'm sure it'll be badass...I just always take dyno numbers with a grain of salt..I've beaten (out mph'd and ET'd) folks with wayyy more dyno hp than I do...I pack a whopping 375 rwhp...but my traps suggest otherwise...I hope he does well...Its nice to see more LT1s kicking some ***...

You're not the only one. The track opened 2 weeks ago but both test and tunes have been rained out so far. It would have been in the 50's both times too.

What were you running back in 2006 that made almost 500rwhp? Just wondering what happened.

I got LE ported heads and a custom BB cam in my car. Seems to do ok.

With a six speed, 12 bolt, it would make 500+ to the wheels. But I dont give a whooptie do **** about dyno numbers, I want to run in the 10's on pumpgas@3800lbs

Drives awesome and will soon be in the 10's at 3800lbs...ALL MOTOR

Update:

Car was sold to pay income tax debt. Probably wont hear much about it from now on, i'm not even sure who the new owner is.

agreed. seems like an embarassing proposition to have your *** handed to you by a car making significantly less power than you. it's not a mph race - it's a timed race and the real work is getting the power to the ground and getting to the end first.
