Do you know what caused it to be salvage?

It was registered as an 'R' title in 99, probably from a minor accident as it already had 120,000 miles on it at that time and a fender bender would have been enough to total it. (probably $2000-$3000 book value at the time) The owner likely bought it back from the insurance company as it was back on the road shortly after being totaled. I am pretty sure it was registered for the next year in PA, if I recall. They put another 30,000 miles on it for in the years after that.
