Members posting "Wanted to Buy" threads here are particularly susceptible to be taken advantage of due to the site's policy of new members (less than 50 posts or less than six months old accounts)not having access to the classifieds. However new members can still PM you with an offer for a part for sale, so if you make it known that you are in the market for a particular part, a scam artist can offer you exactly what you seek.

BEWARE of PMs from members with RECENT REGISTRATION DATES or accounts barely six months old with VERY FEW or NO POSTS.
Not every new member is out to scam you, but use common sense.

DONT:
DONT EVER USE WESTERN UNION TO SEND MONEY TO SOMEONE YOU DONT KNOW OR FULLY TRUST.

DONT EVER use PAYPAL to send money as a "GIFT" to someone you dont know or FULLY TRUST.

DONT EVER send parts out on a "TRADE" to a new member you dont know or FULLY TRUST

DO:
Use a credit card through PAYPAL to give yourself protection in the eveny of falling prey to a scam.

Check the post history of a recently joined member with enough posts to use the classifieds. After having an old account banned, a scam artist will create a new account and post frequently with mindless posts to pad their count and pass the filter. REPORT NEW MEMBERS YOU SEE PADDING THEIR POST COUNT TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE CLASSIFIEDS. That rule is for the protecion of the community.
